Domain Registration
Unique InfoTech allows you flexibility in selecting the domain name extensions (TLDs) that you want to sell and setting the Selling Price for your Customers and Sub-Resellers for your Domain Registration Product. The pricing model being offered to Customers by the system allows offering discounts based on the number of years a domain name is registered, renewed for. This feature is referred as Telescopic Pricing. For Sub-Resellers, pricing is determined based on the Total Receipts based Slabs.
Select the TLDs that you want to Sell (Anchor: select-tld)
Login to your Control Panel. 1
In the Menu, point to Settings and click Manage Products and Pricing.
Click the Domain Registration link and then click the Manage TLDs button.
Here, you may choose to either:
Sell: To sell this TLD to your Customers and Sub-Resellers.
No New Orders: To stop accepting new Orders for this TLD from your Customers and Sub-Resellers. However, existing Orders can continue to be Managed and Renewed.
Do Not Sell: To entirely stop offering this TLD to your Customers and Sub-Resellers. However, you may set this status if there are no Orders of this TLD.
Upon setting your TLD Signup Preferences, agree to the applicable Terms and Conditions and click the Submit button.
You have to compulsorily continue selling at least 1 TLD and can not discontinue selling all TLDs. This implies that at least 1 TLD should be on the Active status.
You will encounter the below error message if you try to discontinue selling all TLDs:
You can not unsignup for All TLDs.
Set Selling Price for Customers for the Domain Registration Product
Unique InfoTech allows you to set Telescopic Price(Anchor: telescopic) ranges for domain name Registration and Renewal for each one of your domain name extensions (TLDs). This simply means that you may offer your Customers increased discounts as and when they may choose to register / renew domain names with you for more than the typical one year.
Example:
Suppose that your Cost Price for a .COM domain name is USD 12. Depending upon your business model, you may typically set your Selling Price for 1 year as USD 13. Now, if a Customer wished to register a .COM domain name for 3 years, he would be charged USD 39 (USD 13 per year). However, with the Telescopic Pricing model, in case a Customer wishes to register his .COM domain name for 3 years, you may set a reduced price of say, USD 12.5 per year. In this way, your Customer is charged USD 37.5 instead of USD 39, thus, availing a discount.
To Set your Domain Registration Telescopic Price
Login to your Control Panel. 2
In the Menu, point to Settings and click Manage Products and Pricing.
Click the Domain Registration link and then click the Manage Prices button.
On the succeeding Domains Pricing page, you will find a list of Top Level Domains (TLDs) that you have chosen to sell. Click the button under the Manage Prices column, for the TLD whose pricing you need to set.
On the next page, set the Selling price for 1 year pricing for each of the Registration, Renewal, Transfer and Restore for this particular domain name extension.
Certain TLDs have a one-time Application Fee applicable for Registrations in the Sunrise Period, apart from the normal Registration charges. Set the Application Cost pricing, wherever required. This amount will appear as a separate component Application Fee in the Invoice Details view.
Additional InformationFurther on, set a per year reduced price, upto 10 Domain years for both Registration as well as Renewal.
Click the Update Pricing button to save your changes.
The Telescopic Pricing feature is not applicable for the Transfer and Restore actions.
In order to serve the purpose of Telescopic Pricing, you need to set reduced pricing in the table from top to bottom. You will not be allowed to set a price higher than that in the previous year's selling price field.
However, if you do not wish to use Telescopic Pricing for your Customers, you may set the same Selling price as the 1st year's for all other years. This would have the same effect as disabling Telescopic Pricing and your Customers will not be displayed multiple year's Pricing on your SuperSite.
Example:
If you set your Selling price for 5 years as USD 55, you will not be able to set Selling price for years greater than 5, as USD 60.
If your Selling price for 1 Year for Registration and Renewal is USD 30 and if you set your Registration and Renewal for all subsequent years till 10 years as USD 30 as well, then your SuperSite would only display USD 30 as your Selling Price. So if your Customer chooses to register a domain name in that TLD for 3 years, he would be charged USD 30*3 = USD 90.
When Specific Pricing is not set, then your Customer would get the best pricing from amongst the Telescopic Pricing (for Domain Name Registration Product) and any ongoing Promotion Pricing (if applicable).
