Managing TLD Promotions

From time to time Unique InfoTech runs various Promotional offers, which you may participate in and choose to offer these Products and Services to your Customers and Sub-Resellers at discounted rates.

Activating / Managing a Promo (Anchor: manage)

You may view all the current Unique InfoTech Promotions and set your Customer and Sub-Reseller Pricing for such Products and Services by following the below mentioned process:

  1. Login to your Reseller Control Panel. 1

  2. In the Menu, point to Settings and then click Manage Products and Pricing to view all running Promotions.

  3. Under Currently Available Promos, click any <TLD> Domain link corresponding to the TLD (extension), whose promotion you wish to activate/manage.

    Note

A link would also be visible in the individual TLD's Domains Pricing page besides Promo Available. However, this link would only be displayed after you have activated a Promotion.

  4. Complete the following steps and click the Update Promo button to complete the process:

    Note
    • Promo Start Date and Promo End Date: This Promo would begin at 12.00 am GMT/UTC on the Promo Start Date specified here and would end at the stroke of mid-night as per GMT/UTC on the Promo End Date specified here. These dates can not be modified by you.

If there are any unpaid Invoices (with the status Action and Payment Pending) after the Promo ends, they would be automatically cancelled to prevent you from suffering any loss, should your Customer / Sub-Reseller execute any Invoice after the Promo has ended.

    • Promo Period: This would be the least number of years the domain name in that TLD can be Registered, Renewed or Transferred for.

      Example:

A .COM domain name's Promo Period will always be for the 1st year of Registration, Renewal or Transfer.

The Promo Period can not be modified by you.

    • Cost price varies between: The Cost Price applicable to you would differ depending upon whether you pass on the benefits of the Promo to your Customers and Sub-Resellers:

      • Lower Pricing would be applicable to you, if you set your Promo Price for Customers as well as Discounted Price (RC1) lower than the barrier price set by Unique InfoTech.

      • Higher Pricing would be applicable to you, if you set your Promo Price for Customers or Discounted Price (RC1) higher than the barrier price set by Unique InfoTech.

    • Your effective cost price: This value indicates your Cost Price based on what price you set in the Promo Price for Customers as well as Discounted Price (RC1) fields.

    • Action Type: Depending upon whether a Promo is available for Registration, Renewal and/or Transfer under the specific TLD, you may activate a Promo by selecting the On radio button.

    • Promo Price for Customers: This would be the Cost Price that you wish your Customers to pay for this TLD (extension) under the promotion.

      Note

You may modify the value specified in this field, either:

      • before the Promo Start Date: The New Price will become applicable from the Promo Start Date at 00:00 GMT / UTC.

      • while a Promo is on: In this case the New Price will be applicable immediately.

    • Considering that any promotion has a higher rate of being a success when a large number of buyers are targeted, it is important to incentivize your Sub-Resellers to enable the promotion for their set of Customers and Sub-Resellers as well. This can be accomplished by offering a lower Cost Price for Sub-Resellers who activate the promotion.

      • Discounted Price (RC1): This Pricing applies to those Sub-Resellers under you, who further pass on the benefits of the Promo to their Customers and Sub-Resellers. For this, your Sub-Resellers need to set their Customer and Sub-Reseller Pricing to lower than the barrier price set by Unique InfoTech.

      • Standard Price (RC2): This Pricing applies to any Sub-Resellers under you, who do not pass on the benefits of the Promo, to their Customers and Sub-Resellers.

      Note

You may modify the value specified in both Discounted Price (RC1) as well as Standard Price (RC2):

      • before the Promo Start Date: The New Price will become applicable from the Promo Start Date at 00:00 GMT / UTC.

      • while a Promo is on: In this case the New Price will be applicable immediately.

    • Set Announcement under Control Panel for Customers and Sub-Resellers: Selecting this checkbox would add an Announcement in your Customers and Sub-Resellers Control Panel with details about this promotion.

      Note
      • You may preview the contents of this Announcement by clicking the Announcement link.

      • Upon selecting this checkbox, the template text would appear as a full page announcement (like a splash page) to your Customers and Sub-Resellers in their Control Panel, the moment they login. The full page Announcement is displayed to your Customers and Sub-Resellers only the first time they login and then onwards this Announcement will appear in the Announcements box on the Home page of their Control Panel, until the Promo End Date passes.

    Note
    • The Promo Pricing may apply to Registration, Renewal and/or Transfer under the specific TLD (extension) and only for the least number of years applicable for that TLD. For any additional years, your usual Selling Price would be applicable.

      Example:

Promo activated for: .COM Domain Names

      Promo Applicable for Action: Registration

Promo Selling Price for Customers: USD 8

Usual Selling Price for Customers: USD 10

Now when your Customer tries to register some-name.com for 5 years, he would be charged the first 1 year at USD 8 and for the remaining 4 years at USD 10. This means that, the Customer would have to pay you USD 48 for registering the domain name.

    • Once a Promo has been added, a Promo related link will appear in the Promotional Offers section, on the Home page of your Sub-Resellers Control Panel, throughout your Sub-Reseller chain, only if your Discounted Price (RC1) is less than the barrier price. The link will re-direct the Sub-Resellers to the corresponding Promo Program Details page.

    • Once a Promo starts, a Promo related link will appear in the Promotional Offers section, on the Home page of Customer Control Panel throughout your Sub-Reseller chain, only if your Promo Price for Customers is less than the barrier price. The link will re-direct the Customers to the domain name Check Availability section.

    Note

When you end a Promo, it will get deactivated down your entire Sub-Reseller chain.

  • The SuperSite and PartnerSite contain a large amount of marketing content and information about the Products and Services you offer to your Customers and Sub-Resellers respectively. This data is downloaded to your SuperSite and PartnerSite from your Control Panel and cached (stored) on the SuperSite and PartnerSite Server respectively. Hence, you would need to refresh the cache of your SuperSite and PartnerSite once:

    • if you have activated/terminated a Promo,

      OR

    • if you have modified the value of one or more Pricing related fields,

      OR

    • if the Promo ends automatically after the Promo End Date.

You may accomplish this from within your Control Panel itself by clicking Tools -> Reload SuperSite & PartnerSite Cache -> SuperSite & PartnerSite Promotional Offers.
